I am presently working on the wiring etc to install a 6.5 NA engine in my `76 K20 Silverado.
I'll be upgrading the `76 cluster with the mechanical oil pressure gauge to a `78 cluster with an electric pressure gauge and a Tach. The `78 Tach and Speedometer have 4 warning lamp positions.. 2 pairs at the bottom of the large gauges.
I would like to put the diesel specific lamps/filters "water in fuel" and "wait to start" in the cluster rather than kluge it. "BRAKE" is a must keep and the "4x4" indicator would be nice to keep... Wiring them clean and neat in loom, with the proper connectors from the sensors, through the firewall, to the plug on the back of the cluster is not a problem.
In the 82+ 6.2l trucks where are the "water in fuel" and "wait to start" lamps located? Do the later clusters have filters for 4 warning lamps?
