Chris, I'm going to help a friend install a 6.0/auto in a '65 GMC 1/2 ton 2wd, we are using the front suspension from an '84. He's a very capeable mechanic. My part will be general helping & the fab work. I went through your posts on your swap. In the end, would you recommend the second set of engine mounts or should I make them. If they work out well & are under about $150 it would be worth it to just buy them I'm thinking. For the exhaust, did the truck manifolds fit reasonably well & you just decided to go to the headers or didn't any of the manifolds work out? As far as the wiring/ecm, ect. would you use the stock harness again or do a Painless or someones stand alone unit? Like allot of us, he has multiple projects going. He has a '65 Chevy 1/2 ton 2wd that we put the new front, power brakes, Ramjet 502 w/Richmond 6 speed, air & all. Some of the stuff (front end, brake booster, ect.) will be easier this time around since we did the figuring on the last one. The new truck has a Dana 44 rear with 3.54 gears, it will stay for a while, probably just do springs & spindles in the front & a flip in the rear to get it sitting better. Any input would be great from anyone who has done the LS swap. Much appreciated. Thanks, Lorne
