hurricane free? hmmm, i guess that exempts New Orleans. I have always said to my wife that if I could move tomorrow, or, do it all over again, I'd live in Asheville, N.C. This is the backyard to the Great Smoky Mtn Nat'l Park and hiking, canoeing, history abound. I went there in 2000 and love the place (see www.delbridge.net/smoky.htmlArizona and New Mexico aren't too bad, very hot days with no humidity--110 degrees there is like 85 degrees here in Virginia due to the humidity here. But, little do they know out there, the Colorado River won't supply the water to them too much longer the way they (and southern California) are used to it.Oklahoma or Alabama aren't bad---pretty warm climate and some wide open spaces left to find. Just thought of something, but, it isn't very warm up there, a town called Intercourse, Pennsylvania
