Got Gas?
« on: September 25, 2008, 09:30:34 pm »
How's the gas situation for everyone in the southern states going?  It sucks here.  There's no gas at any stations for 20 miles around me, and if you do find a station with gas the lines are a mile long or longer (literally).  some of the stations are rationing gas at 3 gallons per customer.  What the crap are you supposed to do with 3 gallons, unless you have a motorcycle?  I'm glad i have the focus right now.  It only has a half tank left though, and I hope I can even get to school.  Guess I'll be siphoning gas from stuff around the house.  Might have to get some outa the truck at the body shop, it's got one mostly full tank.  :-\

Here in H-town, there were ridiculous lines and closed stations for about a week after the storm.  Now everything is back to normal, more or less.

Came up from the outer banks of north carolina today.  Filled up in Kitty Hawk, NC at 3.69, no problem.  Here in Richmond, no problem either.

costs me $127 to fill up my sub, 33 gallons.

Just saw the evening news, the governor of Georgia is to blame for Georgia's shortage.  apparently other states in the southeast, including Va, petitioned the EPA 2 weeks ago to supply less cleaner fuel (if that makes sense)--it has more sulfur.  Due to supply interuptions from huricane IKE, EPA agreed.  GA missed the bus.  The governor didn't petition the EPA and instead was playing golf or something.  Now there are long lines at the pumps in GA and stations running out.

Regular gas was $3.21 in rude jersey yesterday.

No lines yet around here, although i do remember the 79 lines;  If your licence plate ended in an odd number, you got gas on tues, thurs.  If you had an even number you got it on M,W,F etc.

i think it's 1979 all over again.  Except this time Chrysler WON'T survive.
