Used the 82 hardware but does not match height of sides,, can't post pics since I don't have a smart phone.

Which pieces did you replace? The ones that attach to the bed or to the tailgate?

Sounds like you've got mismatched parts. We need to see what you've got going on. Why don't you have a smart phone or a camera or anything? You can't take pictures?
