need help with steering wheel install!!
« on: October 13, 2008, 03:24:33 pm »
After removing the steering wheel there is a lock plate underneath. To remove this lockplate there is a retaining ring/clip that sits in a groove on the shaft. Does anyone know where I can find this clip? I have searched everywhere and no one seems to even know what I'm talking about. If need be I can post some pictures. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What happened to yours? You can get it from GM. You use a lockplate depressor to expose the snap ring.

Thanks for the pics...but I knew where it was located on the shaft. I needed to know where I can buy a new one. I screwed up taking it off and bent it out of shape.
