Floor pans?
« on: March 15, 2010, 06:51:43 am »
Has anyone ever done a write-up on replacing the cab corners, floorpans and rockers?  In most guys' builds it goes from before to after, but I'm interested in what and where things get welded together.
I just got an 80 step, and its got issues with all that plus the firewall.

Thanks!

Just do a search here.  There are plenty of threads with lots of pictures of floor, rocker and cab corner repairs.

Agreed, just remember to mock everything up with the door aligned in place and the door seal installed. Make sure all of your panel gaps are correct before you weld or bond any of the components in place. Most people tack, pin, or screw them in place first. Be careful if you're welding as not to overheat the metal and either distort it or burn through.
