Hey just wondering, does the economy really effect your job as an engineer or are you pretty much safe? I got laid off 2 Thursday's ago for the second time and it's very frustrating.

The company I work for mostly does millitary contracts so it doesn't really affect us much.

I had to fill some electives in college so I took several welding and metallurgy classes. Find some local place and take a class. It's a great skill to have.

Now that's what I'm talkin' about; nice work!  I was wondering though, with the new hinges and how far they are into the door, do they interfere with the movement of the window?

To tell you the truth I never even checked to see. I don't think it will (I hope not ) but I will check it out tonigt. I know there is about a 1/2" clearance between the hinge and the window track.

Hmmm, if that's the case is it possible to have the hinges closer to the inside of the cab?  (i.e. cut the pockets closer to the weatherstrip)

Possibly. It's really just depends on how far you want the door to open. The closer the hinge is to the weather stripping the less you will be able to open the door before it contacts the cab.

There is no window interference. The scissor mechanism that moves the window is several inches away.

I have been having problems getting the right latches/install kit from the guys I ordered the kit from. They are supposed to be sending the right parts out today. I hope to be able to finish up the passenger door before the end of the month.
