A Newbie sayin Hi
« on: December 28, 2008, 06:27:15 pm »
What's up everyone, Just joined the club. My names Jerry, I'm from Jonesboro Arkansas and just bought an 87 GMC SWB. It's a really clean truck, runs and drives like new. I plan on doing a few upgrades here and there. It could use new carpet and the seat is faded across the top a bit so I am looking for some factory looking pre-made seat upholstery. I just finished transferring all my sound equipment into it today and it really kicks. The interior is Dark Maple which is a Maroon color. The door panels are faded a little on the top edge and I need to find the correct color spray dye, but SEM only shows a NAPA Red and it really doesn't match to well. Is there a company that makes the exact color I need? also who is the best company to get carpet from. Thanks for any help,

Thanks for the help and compliments, this is the first 87 I've had and I hate the lockout converter. A buddy told me you could put a toggle switch on them but I have not found out how yet, has anyone done this? If so can you tell me the wire to put the switch on. Thanks, Jerry

You don't like the lockout converter?  What do you mean by lockout?  It is a lockup converter and they lock to save gas mileage.

You want find an exact match to the color you want.  Just get what is close and paint everything.  ACC makes the best carpet in my opinion and Acme has really impressed me with their upholstery kits.

I sell both, BTW, I am Chris.
