86-87 Sheetmetal conversion
« on: February 25, 2009, 05:28:01 pm »
How's it going?

I'm new to the site and I've got a problem. I want to swap in a 86-87 front clip to my 79, where I am stuck is how to do the hood hinges. On the 81 + trucks the hinges are in the cowl, and obviously the hinges on my 79 are on the fenders... anyone gots some pics of this swap or can tell me how to do it?
My truck is getting her body work done and I would like to get this cherry clip I found at one of the boneyards.

Thanks,
Donnie

you will need to cut holes in the cowl as listed about to mount the hinges for the 81-87 style.
