FYI  when i installed the new style glow plug controller it wouldn't work right on one of the wires i had to put a light bulb in line to change the resistance of the circuit . i used a small marker light on the firewall
just make sure its not a self grounding light  two wire type hook it up like a resister
and off the glow plug side of the controller run a wire for you indicator light in the dash
good luck  JM

Nice build. I love 6.2's. My first truck was a 6.2 that my grandpa bought new so that kind of resonates with me. I currently have an 85 GMC k1500 Wrangler 6.2, and I was just going to throw it out there that if you need reference pics I'll take some of mine of whatever you need. Keep in mind that my truck has been farmer owned all it's life and needs a good restoration but it is at least as far as I know all there.

Junkman,
The donor truck for mine was a Military truck, supposedly a 1985 truck, no idea as I didn't confirm.  He pulled everything out of it.  It was the early 82-84 version you have.  I got the harness portion from Diesel Depot along with the new controller.  I just need to wire it all in.  85 was the first year for the new updated controller and was used up until 1993.

jsetrum,
Thanks for the offer, I will definitely remember if I need some reference pics.

Friday, Feb 3rd, 2012 The AC related parts finally showed up from Diesel Depot, thought I was going to get a lot better of a manifold for the pump, that would fit, but oh well...

Cleaned up the bracket and painted it to keep it from rusting

Installed the remote fill Reservior on the Pump (18mm, flat screwdriver), put the new AC bracket on and installed the Power steering setup.  The proceeded to put the old AC compressor on the truck.   Still need to get studs for the lower mount that goes in the manifold but I have the potential to have AC now.  (15mm, 13mm)

Still need to get a remote hose and finish putting the hydroboost in, but it is nice making some progress again...

Saturday March 10th, 2012: Got bolts long enough for the lower manifold/AC mount and got the AC compressor mounted finally.  Then proceeded to install the Hydroboost system, got it all hooked up to the pump and the power steering reservoir.

Cris looks good  can't wait to see it all come together

those brackets would be a pain to build and probable as hard to find

Yes they were a pain.  The hardest to find was the TV cable bracket though.

Saturday, April 28th, 2012: Actually did some work to this one.  I managed to pull the ESC wiring out from under the dash.  I was hoping to get further along with the wiring but lost focus on the LS conversion that was making better progress.

I would love to have it running with the top off though.

Saturday, December 2nd, 2012: Went by a friends that has the correct Trans cooler lines and oil cooler lines along with the Diesel Radiator brackets.  He is parting his CUCV out and making a buggy.  Hope to have those soon.
