At the track
« on: May 22, 2009, 01:44:38 am »
Finally got my truck to the track.  It ran 7.16 @ 97mph in the 1/8th. (All motor no nitrous) Was having trouble getting it to hook but were working on it.  Hoping with a little more fine tuning and get the cal-tracs setup that she'll be in the high 6s.

I don't know kinda figure she would be in the mid to low 10s.  I'm really not geared for a 1/4 turning 4500 in 3rd at the finish line in the 1/8th.

Man no kidding, total sleeper! Love it! I think the conversion ratio for 1/8 to 1/4 is 1.57. That would make your 7.16 at 11.24!! Holy crap! What are you running in that thing???

Answered my own question:

010 casting 4 bolt block  12.5:1 compression  388cui
4340 eagle lightweight crank
4340 eagle 6" H-Beam rods
Splayed Main caps with arp studs
Mauhle forged pistons with file fit rings
Clevite 77 bearings
Comp XR294 hyd roller duration @.50 is 241-248 with a 542-561 lift
Dart pro 1 heads 200cc ported with 2.05 1.60s arp studs
Crane 1.5 rockers,  comp 4340 push rods,  comp retro fit lifters
Dart Kool Kan intake  750 holley dp
MSD pro billet with a 6al box
fuel cell with 2 holley black fuel pumps
truck weighs right at 4000 with me in it.
Have not had it to the track yet just got finished with it this winter  anybody have any ideas what she will run?
All we race around here is 1/8th mile
150 shot of nitrous
3500 stall,  very well built 350 turbo,  12 bolt rear with 4:56s eaton posi, with caltrac bars and springs, and 29x13.5 ET Streets.

So almost 600 HP eh? Crazy!

Yea thats about what I figure she will do on motor.  Think I can spray it to mid or low 10,  if I can ever get the traction issues worked out.

A little duct tape and she'll be good as new. :P

Did this happen with the help of some spray?

No believe it or not I still have'nt sprayed it.  This was the result of 12psi in the slicks and 2 full rounds on the cal-tracs launching at 4500.  It did hop the left front tire about 8 or 10 inches off the ground before it broke.  But on the good side I think I finally found the right combination to make it hook.  Got a new J.W. Racing ultra case transmission on the way should be here end of the week and will try it again.

Mike, What were you getting for 60' times prior to your little transmission mis-hap?
