Axels...

What would be the best front and rear axels for the offroad use? Im talking about having fun in the mud, sand and dirt. Not profesional racing.

Dana 60 front with a 14 bolt F.F. rear seems to be what the hardcore 4x4's run.

I run an Eaton posi unit in my 14 bolt S.F., just put it in a few months ago,but so far I love it.

Dana's and 14-FF's are very desirable for offroading, but it really depends on how much you are going to beat on it. I have seen guys use locked 10-bolts for years of trail riding with minimal breakage, so long as they are careful.

If you are building a rockcrawler or mud truck, you will want better axles. But for plain-jane wheeling, 1/2-ton stuff is fine.

I should have started from there... i have a k20 3/4... alreday with the 14 bolt and im not building a rock crawler, just your regular fun in the mud/sand. How con i tell if its a FF or a SF?

If you look at the brake drum the full floater will have bolts holding the axle to the drum. You can see this by removing the hubcap/center cap.
The price sounds right. I paid about $650 including the bearings and install kit.
