Do you already have headers and a good air filter?

Do not buy a holley. If you can get a good rebuilt Qjet from a quality rebuilder. and a set of headers .

what do you have for an ignition coil and what is compression?

whats the wires you using?

i cna runn no ground strap on a 8-8.5:1 motor and have no problem..

my 9.5:1 383 i run .080  gap and no problems

i have a msd bock, blaster ss coil and MSD super conductor wires

wires.. help alot.. oem run ~30-50k ohm per foot or lenght...  MSD SC is less then 50 ohms per foot..

sputtering at the top end? what is the condition of you fuel pump?  stock 30gph is tasked by there already IMO

.45 = four hundred fifty thousandths of an inch. You mean .045" And I really can't follow what you're getting at either. Perhaps if you rephrase your question and what your problem is we can offer better suggestions  ???

I think what he's asking is what plug to use and what to gap them at. I think.

I know!  Punctuation!

thats tough to read it takes us about three times longer to read something lacking punctuation just for it to make sense to us because most learned punctuation in second grade so we should use what we were taught it would benefit those who want to read and help when we we can't understand it we can't help i tend to tune out on things like this and ignore it i chose not to ignore this one this time i would like everyone to use periods and commas and question marks and capital letters at the beginning of a sentence  i know a lot of people get very used to this type of thing because more people text all the time however there should be a law against texting because people lose their ability to write correctly because short cuts are always used because it takes less time because kids don't want to get busted for texting in class so they have to be quick or worse they text while driving and between crashes they try to type fast before they get close to another car but they get another text and have to type while near another car anyway

lol, sorry, I do get carried away sometimes when I try to make a point.  My wife seldomly understands my dry humor, so I am used to it. I just don't let that disuade me.
