installing new upper control arms

how many pumps of grease do i put in the grease fittings on the shaft?

last ones I did, I filled them up with grease until some started to come out

alright thanks...with the grease fitting on the ball joint, where it screws into, there isnt any threads on eather of the control arms i got, are they supposed to be like this or do i have to put my own threads?

No the fitting will make its own threads. just screw it in straight. just pump grease in it till you can see the boot start to swell.

no the fittings are fine, where they screw into ontop of the ball joints is where there are no threads

They could be drive-in zerks. Look and see if the have threads or are they just rings. Put one between fingernail's and twist, if it dont screw out, it's a drive-in zerk.

i did and it wouldnt go in....from what i understand a drive-in zerk doesnt have threads it has "rings" around it

take a 1/4 drive socket the size of the zerk, . Then PUSH DOWN as you try and screw it in, it is a self tapping zerk,  no company takes the time to thread the BJ for the zerk. and DO NOT drive it in with a hammer. :'(

you might need to put some paper or something to fill up the socket a little bit to keep the zerk from going too far into the socket and not letting you apply pressure..Is the socket bottoming out on the top of the ball joint?

nope its not bottoming out, and i used a short socket so it wasnt going up into the socket
