Issues with 3" drop springs?

I want to lower my truck as inexpensive as I can.  I need new front coils anyway, so I want to put a pair of 3" lowering coils.  I realize it will probably ride a little rough.  I am wondering if there would be any issues with alignment or clearances.

Oh yeah... Your alignment will be toast. You may have wheel /control arm clearance issues. Just get new coils and drop spindles. Do it right the first time. It'll cost you under $300 bucks.

Personally I don't like springs that lower the truck more than 2", they generally ride like you have a steel rod in there.

I was just thinking about 3" springs because they were about $25 cheaper at Summit.  Maybe I will just go with 2".  This truck is my daily driver/work truck.  I don't mind a little inconvience, but don't want to hate driving it.  I had a 2000 F150 that was lowered 3 and 4 that was a blast to drive.  Just had to be careful on driveways.

I have 3" summit coils and it rides ok, but it rode better with a 1 or 2 inch djm drop coils I also have 3" djm spindles

You have spindles with 3" drop coils?  That thing must be LOW!!  Did you have any install issues with the 3" coils?  Does the quality seem OK on the springs?

Oh yeah - it'll ride rough...like a buckboard thru a pasture...
I did 3" spindles and then 2" springs...
too much...
just do the spindles then go from there...the fine folks on here educated me on the cutting of the coils...that's how I am adjusting my height ( using stock springs) and actually I am going up just a tad...driving it now make me wince alot and that's putting undue stress on the steering wheel and puckering the seatcover quite a bit... - we can't be havin that! LOL

yes but not low enough though, the lower control arms scrape the ground on uneven payment, the springs are actually ground force

i got the summit 3'' springs,i was doing mine and under the original springs there was a metal spacer under it,looked factory,do i reuse them or chunk

LOL...that's exactly how I used to feel in my truck.  I hated when my control arms scraped, but then I realized that my oil pan was about the same height or a little lower than my crossmember so I really got nervous about bottoming out.  I ended up putting in better bumpstops and raising the truck up a little.
