Seats and console finished UPDATED WITH NEW PICS
« on: February 06, 2010, 07:45:22 pm »
So I finally got the new seats in and the console built. Over the last 2 weeks Ive put new bucket seats in out of a dodge intrepid (lol, I know but they matched and felt really nice) and built a custom center console with sub enclosure and put 2 inch lift springs in the front and 3 inch blocks in the rear.

The console is built out of 3/4 MDF. Its home to a 12" Kicker CVT. That eliminates any reason for a sub box at all behind the seat and for a guy that 6'2-260, THATS NICE. Then I took the top peice to the local upholstery shop and had it wrapped in vinyl and foam. Then I bought 2 cup holder inserts on ebay for 3 bucks a peice and cut the cup holder holes in the console and had a peice of stainless at work cut out to go around the cup holders with the chevy emblem punched out as well. With the black carpet behind it it reall stands out. Ill get some more pics here in a hour or so.

By the way, Im no photographer....thats my wifes job usually.

What year are those Intrepid seats? How much modification did you have to do to get them to fit? Great job on the truck.

the wheels are eagle alloys. Its sunny out so Im going to get more pics today I promise as far as the year model Im not real sure yet Ill have to get back with the guy I got them from. They really werent that bad to fit in I just had to make my own brackets But with a plasma cutter and some thick sheetmetal and a press brake that pas pretty simple ( I work in a sheetmetal facilty) and the best part about the drivers seat is....Its powered.

As for the console Its built out of 3/4 MDF. Its home to a 12" Kicker CVT. That eliminates any reason for a sub box at all behind the seat and for a guy that 6'2-260, THATS NICE. Then I took the top peice to the local upholstery shop and had it wrapped in vinyl and foam. That stainless piece with the chevy emblem is a really nice touch.  Good job all around.  I'm in Simpsonville, KY btw.  Work in Louisville.  I also work with cnc equipment (among other things).  I'm an engineer at a forge shop.

Lookin' good.  Hey you CNC guys, can you take an AutoCAD file and cut something fairly small out of some ABS? :)

Sorry man.  We have the equipment at work, but I don't think I could get away with using them for personal use.
