Striker bolt plastic sleeves?

Does any one have a part number for the Striker bolt plastic sleeves?

I have heard they are available at the dealership and the parts stores but have never seen a part number for any.

OK but what is the part number all I can find are the short Ford sleeves.

Wish i had some made from brass.

If your stock strikers are like mine you'll need the whole striker bolt.  I tried to get the bolt out of the washer before and ruined the bolt threads.  and you have to get the bolt out of the washer to slide the sleeve on it.

the whole striker bolt is Dorman# 38420.  never ever had luck with just the sleeves

I just bought the Ford ones and put them on. I think I had to trim them shorter though.

Easy alternative Fix. Go to Home Depot or Lowes Plumbing Department.  Buy a piece of PEX 1/2" flexible hose. (It looks like teflon white) Cut off a piece of the tube the length of the striker area ---about 3/4".  Slit it with a razor and slide it over your worn out striker.  Worked great for me and did not have to remove anything.  Total cost is about $1.25 .

Being that new strikers are $5 bucks a piece I would just opt for new ones.

The price is not the issue. Its the installation time and the very good odds of dropping and loosing the the nut and washer between the body panel when installing a new striker. (at least on a Suburban).

 Burbon thank you for the PEX trick it works great.

Picked up a 5 foot stick of ½ pex from Lowes for $1.25 but this stuff looks and cuts like hard nylon which is what i was looking for.

The ½ PEX is not a perfect fit but it is close enough to stop the rattle and let the doors close properly.

In the picture you can see there is a gap in the ½ PEX when on the striker bolt.
