custom instument panel
«

Hi Guys,
I want to build a custom instrument cluster for my truck, therefore I'm looking for inspiration.
I'm thinking about something not so different from the stock cluster. I will be using stainless steel sheet metal.
A while ago I came upon some images of a truck with a diamond plate cluster but forgot to save them to my computer, anyone knows where I can find them? Tried searching for them here but could not find them.
Pics of similar instrument clusters are fine too.
Thanks in advance

That's the truck I saw before! Thanks!
Already thought about mounting them in an angle. I was thinking of buying some steel tube with the correct diameter and then cutting them of in an angle of about 15 degrees and recess the gauges in the tube. Kinda the same idea as the original bezel.
I'm also planning on making the indicator lights in the shape of an arrow and the warning lights of mini led's
Will be a lot of work but I think it will look cool in the end.

Why not just mount them in the factory location?

I bought a smaller diameter gauges so the holes in the original cluster are to big. Plus I like the challange of building my own. I will try to relocate the radio as well.
So why do it the easy way if there is a hard way?

Frozone, I am trying to upload or link a Pic for you of my Gauges
I used ABS, but it will give you an idea what will work for you in the stock location and the angle works well if you cut and recess it as I did
I eliminated the shift indicator for ease of install
The 4 lights I installed are; left and right turn indicator, hi-beam and brake warn from the distributor block
Good luck with your project !

I'm hoping to do a different cluster as well, though I wanna do the (99-07?) cluster. Anyone know if I can relocate the heater controls lower or whatever and still make them function?

gregzz4,
Your dash looks clean to. it's making me doubt about the way i'm going the make mine. I like the way the gauges are flat with the panel, i like the look of the rings.
