4x4 LWB DS length and interchange with a 2wd trans.?
« on: July 01, 2010, 03:36:18 pm »
First question, 4x4 driveshaft work with a 2wd trans.? Like would the yoke be the same? If not can it be changed to a 2wd yoke? I'd think so.

2nd what length is a long wheel base 4x4 driveshaft?

Everything will change based on wheel base, GVRW, Trans, 4x or 2x, axles etc. Way too many variables.

good info to know, but to answer some it would be going behind a th350 short tail 77 model, and a 10 bolt rear end from an 84, 2wd short bed. But that's why I asked about a 4x4 long wheel base, long wheel base, ebing alot longer then I need, but 4x4 taking up alot of room for the transfer case, so maybe balance it out for me to be the right length. I wasn't sure if the output on the t-case was the same as a 2wd trans. or not.
