Fender Mirrors for a 1975 Jimmy?
« on: August 29, 2010, 06:59:12 am »
Anyone have any suggestions for mirrors that can mount on the front fender?

No doors = No mirrors = No tow boat...

Need to tow boat... anyone have any experience or suggestions for mirror that would mount on the upper fender area nearest the cab?

I'm not up to date on Jeeps but I think someone makes mirrors for them that clip on to the hinge area for when they pull the doors off. Might be something you could adapt onto your Jimmy.

Go to a camper supply place, they might have some NOS clamp on fender mirrors left over from the 70's.
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

How about the newer style dumbo that goes on our trucks anyway, fits the contour of the fender, just a thought...

Just a thought but if you run that roll bar to the windshield then you can mount something to that almost like the ones that mount to the top of door

NAPA is bringing in one that looks like this one to see if it will work for my application.

Which is like the one in the center of this photo

These are interesting... looks the top bracket is actually bolted to the hood?

I'm liking this one, it looks well built, real tough and if those tiles are standard 12" square tiles then I'm guessing that mirror is a about 8" in diameter?

Anyone agree?

I'm open to suggestions... I prefer something battle worthy, as in heavy duty or well built or both... something old is just as good as something new, in fact I'd rather find something cool just for the personality aspect.

The fan on the truck is off a 1972 Cadillac Edorado with the 500 cubic inch engine just because I was told the Engineers at GM designed it to pull the most air of all the fans they made... seems to work, my 454 never goes over 180 degrees

I really like the above truck mirror, looks real stout and the length is adjustable.

Here's another old truck mirror.  Ad says it has 5" round head and 9" arm

if you're wanting something battle worthy, look for a kind that have a stalk that will fold away when hit or drug on something, like dumbos do...  I like the last set, looks like 60-66 truck mirrors.
