Center support bearing

The rubber on my center support bearing is MIA. The bearing fell infron of the bearing case and the driveline nelted/deteriorated the case almost all  the way through before I got the money to replace it. I picked up a bearing today and removed my front shaft and carrier from the truck at the slip joint and tranny. We tried a bearing press, but my dad didnt feel comfortable tightening it anymore without something breaking. We cut the outer race with a port-a-band saw pryed it off and took the bearings out. We tried cuttong the inner race with a brand new blade, it barely scratched it. We cant get it off no matter what we tried. Hes out of acetylene, and I have no way to take it to a shop. Any suggestions? Im desperate.

I used a cut off wheel on a 4" grinder.  Cut a slot all the way through and used a large flat blade screwdriver to spread it apart a little and it fell right off.

I'd just buy the whole unit as well, after messing with trying to change just the bearing once, I swore never again. Irish is right, its only a couple bucks more, if any. The Checker I worked at on Elsworth and Main didn't even sell just the bearing alone.

Need one of these and put the shaft into an arbor press.

Use a press or a vice. Protect the splines with some tape. If you have no access to heat carefully cut a slit in it with a die grinder. You'll get it.

Okay, once I got up today and it wasnt 1 o'clock in the morning, I grabbed the pneumatic cutoff wheel and cut the inner race a little more than halfway through then shoved a fat chisel in the cutand after 2 smacks with a hammer the race cracked and I was able to tap it off with a hammer. New one is installed and good to go. My dad was out of acetylene so we couldnt torch it.
