Why slam or drop a truck?

For some reason a ol stock chevy after all these years still on the road means a lot to me.

Feelin' ya, bro.  I grew up with these trucks on farms and ranches, hauling horses, cattle, boats, dirt, hay, you name it.  They've always been a fondly remembered part of my youth.  When mine is complete it will look much like it would have back when it was new, but with a few improvements.  One big thing for me is the wheels.  I love the stock look of wheels and the early 70's hubcaps.  I'll switch from the 16.5" wheel to either a 16 or maybe even a 17", but do it in a steel wheel that can take the old hubcaps.  I do agree completely though with the wheel spacing sentiment - these trucks do look pretty lame with bone stock wheels and tires.

At the end of the day, we all have our own reasons for setting these trucks up in a way that suits our preference.  But I think it's safe to say we all share the common interest - keeping the 73-87's on the road for a long long time.

i think they look cooler lowered.however,if i was really going to haul.tow or use it like a truck,i wouldn't do that to it.iv'e got 1 ton diesel to do my heavy stuff.the 79 is just for fun.

Why slam or put hydros on you impala? You answered your own question with your own posts about cars

I have a stock to the paint impala SS I would not touch it plus it's a car. If it was impala non SS yeah I drop it no hydros maybe airbags.. To me a truck lifted I get it's harder to get stuff in the bed I get it.. To lower it makes the truck a lowrider.. I just don't think they look good with big rims and slammed.. A truck it's purpose is to work haul etc.. Impala is a lifestyle cars and trucks to me are way diffrent..

im a huge fan of squarebodys. i like them stock, but i love them slammed.  im not a huge fan of big wheels. but as its been stated 1000x before to each his own.

I made this post not to offend,but to simply understand about lifted trucks,and slammed trucks. I 100 percent see the idea behind lifting. What's up with the guy above me barking your right, I do like what I like you like what you like. I was just trying to learn the culture of it that's it.. You take it personal you funny man..

It's been pointed out to you several times why people like their trucks lowered and lifted. I don't think it needs to be repeated anymore. You say you're not trying to offend anyone but you keep making posts about it. You've gotten your answer.
