I found a set of pretty nice set of fender emblems for my '80 C-10. While cleaning them up. what little remained of the yellow paint inside the lettering washed away. Maybe someone here has redone a set that could give me a couple of pointers. Is there any kind of prep required prior to painting? Is this a rainy Saturday afternoon project with a small brush, or is there a quicker way to do a good job? Who can tell me a color code for this, or what kind of paint would work best? Thanks guys and gals!Scott
bake,I ended up going to a hobby shop and talked to someone there about what I would need. They thought the Testor's enamels would be the way to go. Cost $1.49 a bottle. Interestingly they didn't have them and sent me to Discount Drug Mart to get them. Evidently it is because they sell models. Of course it wasn't a perfect match, but really came out nice. They didn't feel that primer was needed, but I'm sure it wont hurt. Are you masking it and spraying? That will be quite a feat! I guess worse case, I'll just have to redo mine if it comes off.
I've some times wondered if you couldn't "insert" the paint with a hypodermic needle?
I'll have to take the camera next time. It's not at the house. I get so into what I'm doing and have thought several times I should have taken a pic of what I'm doing.
Where's the pics promisekeeper ?
