We are men. We never make mistakes.

We are men and we never make mistakes, right?
I feel I can say this here because I could never tell my wife this information.
So we got our first snowfall yesterday and I went out to the shop last night to get the snow blower started.
Now keep in mind, I've fabricated a street legal 1963 Chevy II Nova with a full roll cage narrowed rear end and supercharged nitrous injected motor.
I'm working on a ground up rebuild of a 1976 4x4 Chevy truck.
I've service trained people for my job in 3 different countries.
Don't ya think I could check the snow blower gas tank for fuel before pulling on the cord for 15 stinking minutes? I mean, I even had the plug out 3 times and got shocked twice checking for spark !!
I spent the next 30 minutes blowing snow in solitude, reflecting on what just happened, and chuckling.......

When you were done you should have made yourself sit next to a wood stove drinking a beer or two thinking about what you just did. Kind of like a time out...haha

This reminds me of a question we must ask of ourselves now and then...
"If a man goes deep into the woods and there are no women present to hear him talk, is he still wrong?"

yeah worst one I did was took the starter off my car to have it tested because IT MUST BE bad, and I already checked everything else possible... Or so I thought.
Turned out the battery cable connection at the battery was corroded. But the car had a new starter on it anyway.
Thats the first thing I check on ANY car I ever look at now.

Oh the memories,
Went riding with a friend on 4-wheelers (ATVs) and mine quit on me. I fussed at it as he rode back to get a rope. I got frustrated because my friend had to tow me back home. My wife comes out and says "what happened?" I said this piece of junk died on me.
She asked "does it have gas".
I haven't won an argument since.

If you ever get up into NH for anything you just let me know and there will be a spot next to the wood stove with your name on it with a cold beer on the cusp of freezing waiting!
A lot of life's mysteries and problems get solved sitting around this round black hot thing when it's cold out.
My truck building buddy (Oscar) spends his fair share of time sitting next to it also.

Back when I was a young whipper snapper I had a few Mopars. My 71 dodge dart needed different tires on it. Why I don't really know as I didn't even have my licence yet! I was doing a stroke of business with two bumper jacks, a four way, and some 8x8 blocks! Passengers side came off slick as snot on a door knob! Drivers side I fussed, and feuded with broke a couple 1/2" drive chrome sockets, and two studs off with a borrowed 3/4" drive breaker bar. Then it dawned on me when my father who knew nothing about cars, but allot about bolts, and metal that they were left hand thread!!!!

I now see that I am not the only man here who has made amusing silly mistakes.
Well, let's not call them mistakes. Let's call them moments of increasing intelligence.
Thanks for making me feel better.
And alas, the infamous wood stove, thirsty!! That thing is a vision of beauty, a real work of art. I wish I lived closer !!

Agreed, just like my firewall.... I fixed it and it looks better and I don't know how it could have looked better than it did!
I remember when I worked in a dealership and the tech next to me was flipping out because the car he was working on crapped out while he was working on it. He swapped out the ECM, changed the ign module, pulled plugs, had the scanner on it, just acting like a complete jackass parts changer and he was a decent wrench. So I went over and was like wth are you doing? Is it out of gas? LOL yup
