Alright I am starting my new adventure of building a tilt front end. I purchase a fiberglass hood and fenders from
www.up22.com. This way was much cheaper to go then buying the full tilt kit from usbody and I can make sure it's all line up as a I go.
Here is the fenders and hood.
The hood is very nice. It is bolt on. The fenders are not as impressive and there is nothing bolt on about them. I'd actually be pissed if I recieved these and I planned to bolt these on the conventional way, but since this is going to be a full tilt front end I will glass them to the hood.
First I put my radiator core up to line up the hood.
Next I spent quite a bit of time trying to get the gap right on the back of the hood. It was really uneven.
I bolted to the hood hinge so it I could line it up with radiator core and took a cut off wheel to even up the gap at the back.
After it was evened up.
After I got the hood is were I liked I cut the radiator core of the headlight mounts.
This is going to be fixed into place.
I've spent some time lining the rest of it up.
This is where I'm going to put the hinge. It is right behind the bumper.
This one is to show you why I am not impressed with the fenders.
That's what I got done today. I should of gotten further, but I had a rough night.
More to come.
