Yes you have the same blocks so everything should work.  Just use the engine mounts from your old engine

Having the mounts on the motor is a plus, it should drop right in place unless you had a V8, in that case you will need to move the engine stand mounts to the I6 location.

How I would do it... obtain a V-8 throttle cable and bracket off a quadrajet and fabricate the mount to work.

That sounds like a plane but i dont have a welder.  I just need this linkage to work for now because i am going to upgrade in the future. Here is some pics of what i should have...

Any 250 I-6, 1973 on up until the integral head should be what you need...

Depends on how comfortable you feel with making it work.  You don't want it to bind or stick so OEM is the "right" way to go.  If you plan on a SBC in the future you will at least have the right cable.  I wouldn't imagine it would take much to make it work right but the air cleaner housing has to clear as well.
