Tranny pan issues

So, I am changing my tranny pan on my th350.

Everything seems to be going fine except I can't figure out how to get the two screws behind the cross member out.

Is there a tool or do I have to remove the cross member?

I tried 1/4 drive knuckle with 1/2 socket..was so close..but no luck.

well depending on how much space u have u could use a extension or use a u-joint extension to get to it if not i would think you would have to then unbolt the crossmember

Yeah the problem is the actual socket fitting.

I looked on some other forums and found that I can unbolt the two bolts connected to the tranny and use a jack to slightly lift the tranny to make that 1/36 of and inch I need.

I am going to continue this tomorrow

     Find a way to support the TRANS, not at crossmember.  Then loosen crossmember, take pan off and replace, then tighten crossmember back up.

"usually" in those situations the trans mount has compressed (deteriorated) to the point that getting to the rear bolts are next to impossible.  Might I suggest replacing the mount while you are under there...

Fixed it...took cross member off.

However..found the leak



The circle in the back of pic is leaking..what is that?

Looks like something is missing?

Servo cover. You need to clean that all up and degrease it before you pull anything apart. You should also replace your transmission mount.

X2 on the above. I have also trimed a 3/16" off the cross member in the past to help ease the removal the next time.

Ok

Looked up servo and it seems pretty easy to fix, however I am having trouble finding the correct parts to order..jcwhitney has 4 listed..none of which say th350..jegs and summit neither..

Any ideas?

I found it at tsr..they have an exploded diagram..thanks though.

Gonna change the cover and gasket and go from there. ( actually add the cover lol) missing! weird.

Drives great..now to brakes

Found another leak... On the cooler lines..small drips...will investigate this week.
