Still lots of cleaning to do ! LOTS OF CLEANING.......... I have my work cut out for me.... Clean transmission inside  and out, clean transfer case ,,,, I cleaned the bell housing already but still have a bit more cleaning to do....... The transfer case is leaking :( I need to fix that.... It's a SMALL leak but still,,,, I need the fix it..... I need to sand and paint the axles soon along with sand and paint the frame under the cab that I missed..... Also the front driveshaft to sand and paint . Rear sand and paint a bit more..... And anything else I want to clean sand and paint it ..... The axles are going to be a nightmare to do it by hand without sandblasting them......  I'm ordering fuel lines, fuel fittings and fuel hoses for the Holley 830 4 barrel double pumper today from summit racing.... I also need a thermostat housing cover..... And coolant lines..... Gas tank fuel hoses as well..... And the positive and negative battery cables will be replaced as well, I need a heater core! That is shot and so needs replacing ....I've got to figure the exhaust out even though I have the piping, then needs welded up.... But finding a straight adapter kit from swapping a small block to a big block will be the hard and expensive part.... I spent 3 and a half hours solid on the phone today researching ordering etc... I have the fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, fuel fittings, fuel rails, fuel lines, ordered and on their way tomorrow,,,, I need to order some fly wheel and clutch bolts tomorrow as well, and pick up another grade 8 nut and log washer as it cross threaded on the top plate mounting bolt stud that screws in the axle, so a machinist will be making a complete new one tomorrow for the truck.... There's seemingly always another part or something to replace or buy to upgrade to the parts I put on every time I turn around and work on the truck.... Trying to keep things going as smoothly as possible.... Jeez,,,, gosh this has been a INSANELY. Expensive ,,, long and drawn out, replace this upgrade that type of project/build.... I truly can't wait until it's finished,,,,

It's looking pretty good so far. The main thing is the engine is HOME finally.

As far as cleaning the frame and frontend, I used a drill with a wire brush to get as much of it off as I could. Since mine was and is going to be again a daily driver, I brushed  gloss black rustoleum paint on everything. I used it on my driveshafts, inner fenders, leaf springs, etc... It lasts a lot longer than the spray paint because it goes on thicker. It is not as quick as spray paint though.

You will get there. I always say "well I am further along than what I was last week". ;D

What clutch, pressure plate are you going to for this engine?
It's been a LONG time since I have been called a newbie. Just sayin....

What do you need help on as far as motor mounts?  Just put the SBC ones on there.  You might have to address the fan shroud, but K10 never had BBC's in them.

^What he said. I never had a big block in my truck but I was thinking that the motor mounts are the same. I could be wrong. I admit it that I am not sure. But I do know that K10's never had a BB unless the owner put it in.
