What's in your pocket?...
« on: January 30, 2020, 12:31:58 AM »
***I joined this Forum a few years back, but am fairly new to the "posting" part.  So, I hope I'm not breaking any rules.  And furthermore, if I am, I hope that the Moderators will go easy on me.***

For as long as I can remember, I've had a knife in my pocket.  I carried a pocket/utility knife before the whole "EDC" thing became "cool".

Growing-up in the 70's, I can remember just about every "Blue Collar" guy with a sheath on his belt.

So, what's in your pocket?

I spent most of my money on Jack Daniel's, Copenhagen, pocket knives, and 4X4 trucks.  The rest I just wasted.

"Dad" (RIP) was a Buck guy.  I can't remember him afield without his trusty Buck 110 and black leather sheath.  In fact, I have a hard time finding a pic of him (where his belt was showing), when his black leather sheath wasn't visible.  He dressed many a whitetail (and doves) with his 110s.  Back then, the Internet was pretty-much non-existent.  So, instead of taking advantage of Buck's "Lifetime Warranty", he'd just buy a new 110 about every 10 years or so.

I've carried many different blades (CRKT, Spyderco, Benchmade, etc.), but always seem most comfortable when I'm near my roots...a "Buck 110" of some form.

Since they were introduced, I've found myself enamored with the Buck "110 Slim Select(s)"...

I can blame my "two knife" approach on my Buddy, Jon.

In this day of "consummate victims" and "the easily offended", he suggested that I throw a "Gentleman's pocket knife" in my back pocket...so that I wouldn't have to go all "Crocodile Dundee" in the breakroom.  So, I've gotten in the habit of throwing a smaller blade in my "Copenhagen" pocket.

Here's a little Special Edition "The 55" action, just for "eye candy"...

when im about to go to work i cant carry anything (prison). when im out and about i usually carry a 4" blade clipped in my back pocket, doesnt really have to be a good name brand since i tend to lose them or someone moves them from my bowl (think the later lol). but no matter what it is i put an edge on it with a stone and it has to keep. i also carry a leatherman on my belt not sure what model it is since i got it at an auction for a few bucks and i norm carry cope wintergreen sometimes ill go with the straight.

Glock G42 fits right in the pocket. Used to carry a butterfly knife for years when I was younger.

...Emerson Wave Commander in the right.

A very good Friend of mine is a Mechanical Engineer/Machinist.  He swears by his Emerson because of how scary-reliable it is opening on presentation.

He says it's quite handy in the shop.

I figured "truck" guys and "pocket knife" guys were like peas and carrots.  C'mon guys, show me your Medford, Case XX, Spyderco, CRKT, Kershaw, ZT, etc.

Here's another one of my Buck 110s to get us going...

Well, I'm about halfway through a "handle" of Jack.  So, I thought I'd add to this thread (even though it appears I'll be all alone).  :)

If you're a "Buck" guy, do yourself a favor, save your pennies, and score a Buck 110 "Auto Elite".  This is the knife Al Buck woulda' built, if he was alive today.  C.J. Buck is doing his Grandpa a solid by offering this...

I've caught an episode, here or there.  I'm a full-time (24/7) Caregiver for an Alzheimer's patient.  So, we usually watch what she wants. (The Cooking Channel, 48 Hours, Dateline, etc.)
