Driveshaft durability

I have a 74 c1500 which originally came with a 250 6cl. I now have a 465 horse small block with a m21 tranny. Is the stock driveshaft going to be able to handle that with occasional abuse? Or turn into a twizzler?

Didn't you say you were lowering it? If so what method did you use to lower the rear? Check your operating angles, make sure appropriate clearance, slip and good u-joints. Download the angle meter app on your phone.

I did lower it 4 inches in the back by spring hanger and shackle method. I'll make sure all clearances, and that the slip yoke isnot to far into the tranny, and new u joints. Just checking to see if that old tube could take the beating.
