i know on my cars it only serves as a vent for fuel vapors. on my 85 k10 if you start from the beginning there are 3 feed lines. i know one starts on the carb. now can i just plug these and remove the canister?

Why do you want to remove it? Where will you vent your fuel tank too?

just trying to eliminate anything i can in my engine compartment. i've done this before on one of my other vehicles and never had a prob. it vents when you open the cap.

yea i got rid of mine a long time ago....If its going to be a "off road" only truck then why not...But if u have emssion laws and stuff its good to have

You really want to at least have the tank vented. Venting by removing the cap isn't my idea of an ideal situation. You can probably get a vented cap, but.....

I removed the canisters(dual tanks) from my truck. I removed the canister and vapor line. where the vapor port is on the sending unit, I left about a foot of hose, attaching it to the frame next to the gas tank. So, it just vents right there. Or you could plug it and buy a vented gas cap.

When I bought my truck, all of the vaccuum lines were already plugged... I am not too worried about space, my 86 has all kinds of room in the engine bay....
Should I go back and re-attach these lines???
What problems will occur if I don't???

which vacuum lines? Certain vacuum lines need to be hooked up correctly. Many of the TSVS malfunction anyway so I wouldn't worry about it. Make sure your vacuum advance is hooked up. Your EGR if it's there needs to be hooked up correctly. If your canister purge is still there and you want to hook it up that's pretty easy too. Maybe you should take some pix and post them

I will take some pics and post them.... I think there is only one line that is hooked up... And I don't know a lot about much of these things.... Just what I taught myself...

fuel vapors jut venting freely into the air just isnt all that safe especially with so many ignition sources present on vehicles
