Hello everyone. They call me Joe. I am a big, hairy biker type. I have a 1984 3/4 ton chevy with a 454,came with a 350. I also have a 1990 Harley, FLHS and totally custom. I also have a nice 4x4 truck pushing 3 horse power. It's a nitro burning radio control and the engine in it cost me $400.00,very fast. I got a 1/8th scale serpent too with the same engine but on-road. I am a big time golfer. I get the look like yeah, you golf, golf like crap but I lettered in high school and got MVP. I can drive the ball as long as tiger, maybe longer and shoot in the upper 70's,low 80's if I suck. I use to be a street racer back in the late 70's,early 80's. My last 2 project's were a 1979 camaro with a 383 and my baby, a VW rabbit with a built 350. The rabbit had a camaro sub frame up front and all home made rear frame section right down to the ladder bar's. It was made into a 2 seat and the stoke front end was bolted together and braced with tubing then rode on bearing's for a ultra smooth tilt. I sold them both right after I got my Harley, the 2nd one. Before the chevy truck I have now, I had a ford f100 with a very built 390. I put 36 hour's of port work just in the head's. For a ford, the truck was super fast. I sold it then needed a truck and got this chevy and love it. I love the fact that chevy made most body part's bolt on,I am talking bed side's.So, that's me. Golf, riding harley and the truck. If time is there I play with the nitro's. I am 42 year's old too. Live in Indiana, lucky me. I hate the weather we have and soon want to move someplace it's warm most of the year. A man can dream can't he. Nise to meet you all and You might end up seeing more of me here.

Hey all: If I saw this thread first I wouldn't have posted my question of "current projects" in the general question section. My name is Scott, (freinds call me Scotty) I'm a 35 year old metal fabricator who's married to a great woman and have two awesome kids. I live in Ontario, 1 hr from Toronto. My current project is an '87 R-10 shorty with plans for a 383 5 spd. I've just finished boxing the frame and re-assembling the supension. I'm shooting for a subtle, clean look.
I'm currently trying to get all the metal work finished on the cab so I can put it back on the frame. The truck was likely too rough for most to tackle, but I wanted to have a challenge for my first project, with the intention of gained experience for my next project, (hopefully a 30's or 40's car)
Other hobbies include; fishing, camping canoeing and playing guitar. I'm also on the "hotrodders.com" site as Gearhead Forever. My E-mail is atkinsonfour@sympatico.ca. Drop me a line any time. (put '73-87 chevy trucks in the subject heading, I don't open unfamilliar e-mail) I'm also going to check into the chat section periodically, maybe I'll hook up with some of you one of these days...

i guess i should do the intro, since this is my first visit to this site....here goes.
my name is mike.  i am a resident of south dakota, but i am currently living in colorado.  i'll be back home in about two weeks.
i have an 83 chevy shortbox 4x4, a 75 longbed 4x4, and an 87 3/4 ton suburban 4x4. the 83 is the nicest one, and it is all stock, with the exception of the engine (350 vs. 305), and an inline transmission cooler.  the 75 has a 327 from a 69 camaro, a 4 inch lift, and 33" tires.  The suburban is the craziest one i guess.  it has a 6" lift, 37" hmmwv tires (16.5), and a rebuilt 350 with the factory throttle body. if that doesn't sound crazy, i guess having the top chopped off behind the rear doors might.  i plan on adding a full cage, and bigger tires to it though.
i came here to get some info and anything else that might be useful.
i also plan on selling the 75 silverado too, so if anyone's interested.

I'm Rocky, married, 36. I've been in the Navy for fifteen years now. I purchased a 1976 c30 c&c, former wrecker, in 1987 for basically a decent chassis. I obtained a rebuildable 454 in 91 while stationed in VA.  Purchased a 1973 c10 lb 454/400 running parts truck and a 1981 C10 no mtr/ trans in 1992 in Louisiana while ship was in Avondale Shipyard. I went to Recruiting duty in 94 where I got a hold of a 159" wb C&C on 19.5 tires, former Ryder truck. Needles to say all these trucks were used for parts to form one almost complete truck currently known as Jethrow. I have driven down a quarter mile at the Super Chevy Show in Pamona 99, best time 17.8. Also done some truck pulling in Southern Cal.

Hi all
Im Bob  some of you may remember me cause i used to be a member here a long time ago but i forgot my password and decided to use the name i use on other forums i belong to. Looks like alot has changed here and alot more traffic than used to be here and thats great!  I own a 1986 C 10 custom deluxe that is my all around work horse pretty much for local stuff, a 1976 c10  custom deluxe that will be my son's  ( im restoring  it and thanks to CaptKaos im pretty well getting through all the bugs despite the fact that the snow has kept me from working on it for like a week or two) and i have a couple of other trucks that i use  my daily driver is a 1999 Ford ranger that  despite the fact its a ford  does very well and  is beaten up on a regular basis and a 1997 caravan thats  really my parents car, and is a constant source of anger and grief ( thinking of getting a tow truck for  it). Im 38  my son is 16 my daughter is 15 and im happily divorced , although that may be changing. Im a self employed general contractor and i live in  Old Bridge NJ and  always am looking for something to do on my trucks and all. Im an avid fisherman and love football and baseball. Anyway i hope that this board  becomes agreat source for us to share information and congrats Capt on the new ownership!

Hi. My name is Neal originally from Los Angeles CA and transplanted to North Dakota by the Air Force. I am 20 years old and am new to the older chevy truck seen but am enjoying it so far. My '85 K10 began as a beater to get me to and from work so my wife could drive our '98 Durango but i am now in the process of fixing it up a bit. Partly because i am tired of it dying at work but mostly because i love custom trucks. My last truck was a '00 S10 that was featured in the August 2002 issue of Sportruck Magazine but i sold it last year. I have also owned a '92 GMC Sierra and a '95 Brondco. I am looking forward to  assisting and getting assistance from the board.
