I'm Brad from Southern MD. Married 21 yrs, daughter 18, son 9. My driver is a 1987 LWB 350/700R4 Silverado I got from the original owner. It's got 270K on the original engine, and on it's 3rd trans due to the OO trailering horses.

My project is a 1976 K-10 SWB 350/TH-350. Original engine was a 400. I believe the OO still has it stored somewhere, but I haven't checked it out. I remember when he bought it new. That's when my interest switched to the square body trucks. I've acquired a 350 4-bolt. I tend to like the 350s because parts are easier to find, not to mention cheaper. Original fleetside bed was rusted away, as the 2nd owner was a commercial fisherman and hauled live crabs in it. I located a SWB stepside bed from the same period to replace it. I've finally gathered all the sheet metal to start the restore. Most of the patch panels came from 73-87chevytrucks.com when they were just starting out. Yes, I've been collecting parts THAT long.

Joined back in July... 45 years young, married going on 21 years, 2 boys 14 and 17.  Live in NW Indiana and love Chevy/GMC trucks.  I have had a bunch of these 73-87's over the years as well as a 64, 65, 69 and two 72's.  Just sold some of my projects so I can concentrate on one when the weather breaks.  I picked up a 1986 C-10 Custom Deluxe with no options at all.  Nice straight Tennessee truck with very little rust and 70K original on the clock.  My weekend driver is my 85 C-20 Scottsdale in my avatar.  I started as a mechanic and switched to the paint field.  Best forum ever!!!

Hey everyone, my name is Brandon, 20 years old, and i'm from Grand Forks, North Dakota. I have an amazing and very supportive girfriend, no children, no pets. I own a '79 K10 Bonanza, SWB, 350/350 combo with a NP203, 4" lift with 32's I drive on everyday and 35's I use for mudding and whatnot. This is my first chevy pickup I have ever owned, it used to be my dads until i bought it from him almost 2 years ago now. I've grown up in a family of Chevy/GMC supporters. I used to drive an '87 S-10 blazer, then a '94 talon and now my '79 K10. We also have an old C50 on our farm that I have to drive every weekend which is fun. I love this site, there is a lot of useful information that I have found and I'm still looking and people have been very helpful in the questions I have had about my own pickup. Well, if anyone is every in my area let me know, there aren't too many of us around here to hang out with that have Chevy's. My MSN is bmaier21@hotmail.com.
Are you just gonna lay there and bleed or are you gonna cowboy up?

Hi My name is Gerardo I'm 40 father of 5 and grandfather of 2 so far. Yes grandfather i live in Dayton NV about 30 miles south of Reno NV. I have a 79 Chevy K 5 blazer that i got for a steal.  Runs great, a little rusty.  Spent it's life in the Sierra for many winters.  Already installed a 700r4 from a 86.   I'll post some pics later of that project.  I also just picked up a 79 GMC shortbed stepside less motor.  My plan is to get rid of the stepside and replaced it with a fleetside.  I'll post some of that project soon also.  And if 2 projects weren't 1 too many, i also have a 64 GMC truck shortbed that I'm also working on.  Well that's all for now looking forward to chat with or exchange ideas with you all thanks.  Gerardo

Ok well like the first post I have too moved from the S-10 world to the full size life. I'm 29 and have been wrenching for as long as I can remember. my last money pit was an 87 ext cab S-10 that I converted about 6 years ago to a 420hp small block with a list it of mods that would take me allnight to list. After doing a burnout in second gear about three months ago with 8000lbs on a trailer behind me and destroying my entire drivetrain including riping the floor wide open with flying metal I retired the truck to thejunk yard and went on the look for an 73-87 full size. I found one about 3 weeks ago. A sweet 84 silverado that was 100% stock. (was) This thing had everything inlcluding factory A/C that worked. The body is awesome. Power windows and locks work. 4x4 works. came stock with quad shocks etc. Very nice truck.  I have since replaced stock 305 with  healthy 350 I built and replaced stock 700r4 witn one my good friend friend built for me which includes racing servo, extra clutch packs, manual valve body and 3500 stall 10inch converter. I have changed thegears to 4.56 and replaced the rubber with 35 12.50's. Lifted it 2 inches and will keep plugging along til I have it where I want it. I love the truck. Already mounted new Hot Rod Air A/C compresser and now working on finding new shocks and getting brakes to work correct.  I look forward to learning from you guys.

I will post often and thanks for having me.
Just-speed

Let GM go belly up! I got what I wanted. Thanks for building the best truck ever.

Hello from Missouri, I kinda skipped over this and went right for picture posting and giving my opinions ::)

My name is Jim, I have my outstandingly understanding wife and three kids, and a Roxie (mut, but she's smart as a whip)
I tend to go from all out to nothing when it comes to working on vehicles, my wife says I'm obsessed at the moment with my trucks. In a couple months that will probably change..hehe
I worked with a feller for several years and he took in everything from weedeaters to Bulldozers. I've personally re-built many tractor engines, and automotive type engines. I have a block when it comes to performance re-builds tho as I have done zero. I'm 42 years old and been working off and on for the Auto Industry in some form or another since I was 16.
My latest projects are a '78 chevy 3/4 fleetside frame off rebuild, I hope to dive into some form of performance upgrade for the 406. Still able to run on pump gas but barely :) I also have a '80 chevy 3/4 fleetside that is basically junk, the frame has been repaired (rust) and it's in sad shape, but good for stump jumping  ;D
Just bought a 2008 Brute Force 650 4x4 kawasaki 4 wheeler, I think I'm too old for it, or maybe too young.. we will see, it's name says the story it is a horse.
So far I have really enjoyed the forum and the info therein. Look foreward to being here and meeting you all.

I'm spending my children's inheritance on my Trucks.
'78 3/4 fleetside 4x4 4oo/400 3:73gears (frame off rebuild)
'80 3/4 fleetside 4x4 305/400 4:10gears (if I took the body off the frame it would fall totally apart...lol )
