Where do you keep your truck?
« on: June 07, 2007, 12:29:47 pm »
Any of you have a nice hanger or does your poor truck sit outside all year round? I just built me a nice garage at my house to keep my toys in. Post pix

Well, I currently have 5.
My Jimmy is "stored" in my garage/shop/warehouse.

(pic before the project trucks moved to below location)

My Burb and 87 R10 get to stay outside of the garage.

The 73-87Chevytrucks.com pickup I am building is currently in my oldest brothers shop along with the captkaoscustoms.com '73 Pickup.

I built a 960 square foot shop behind my 990 square foot house. When I was driving my 84 everyday it sat in hte driveway. Now it has a home in the shop, next to my F-100. Hopefully I will driving the 84 on the weekends very soon.

Chris nice shop. I wish I had built a cinder block shop instead the wood framed shop I built. I'm going to Montgomery in two weeks. Any chance I can stop by and buy a T-shirt in person.

Also this the pic I wanted to post of my truck. Sorry for it being dark.

Right now mine is just parked in front of the Jeep in the garage. That is a Crew Cab and they both fit in that bay.  When we are done working on it it will have the space where the Audi S4 is currently sitting.

Lon, I didn't build it, but my grandfather did, he used to own a bus line years ago and this is what the serviced the buses in.  I bought the house/garage when they moved him to assisted living.  It is 24 x 42 or something like that, I want to repour the floors to fill the alignment pit in the back and drop the floor for a minimum of 11' ceiling..

Sure, you can drop by and get a shirt, just let me know when.

Chris, repouring floors sound like fun. If you like torture. I'm leaving the 17th but I dont know what time, and I'm staying in Mont. all week for training.

I took a vacation day today to finish cleaning my shop and put brakes on my 93 Astro. So far all I have done is read and move the Ford around. I took this pic today for this thread since I didnt have any of the outside.

I right clicked every single one of those. If you don't mind, i'd like to copy that setup when we finally buy some land out in the country. I know I shouldn't complain, because I have gone without a garage for awhile, but this single car setup blows. I have to offset my truck to one side just to be able to get my skinny butt out the door, and then I can't walk around it. I can't wait until after my daughter comes into this work in about a month....then we'll outgrow this house and start hunting land or one of those older brick basement homes with no garage so I can build my own shop.

When I bought my house the prerequisite was it had to have enough land to build a garage. Well it did but I had to build it into a hill and I spent a pretty penny smashing ledge and then building the garage was the fun part. I have a program that allows you to design your own garage it's limited but it allowed me to do a rough blue print of what I wanted to do. I spend more time in my garage then I do in my house! lol I put a new furnace in there and hung it from the ceiling so I wouldn't waste floor space. I also hid all the duct work in the rafters and insulated around it. Nice n cool in the summer nice n toasty in the winter. I also added cable, phone, internet, air lines hard piped every 4' there's a coupler. My only regret was not adding plumbing but I had to draw the line somewhere. Here's how I had orignially done it up. I used attic trusses and 10 foot bay doors though. My foundation is also stepped because it's built into the hill

When I look at land it has to have a hill so I can build my garage into it. I wouldn't build a garage without being able to do that. Ground level entry into the second floor.
