Just an update on the 74, I flipped the rear axle and lowered the truck 2 more inches in the front. Yesterday I aligned it and it came out perfect. 3.3° positive caster. I replaced the front and rear tires for better clearance and stance. Today I am replacing the steering box and installing the inner fenders. I still have to readjust the valves since I broke the engine in and I'm going to fix the steering column (loose tilt). Next weekend I am planning on starting the shortbed conversion. I'll post pix soon.

AWESOME truck Vile! I wish mine was that far along. Looks great, sounds great.
Love the old school wheels. I've been looking for that style in an 18" for the rear and 17" for the front but no luck......
My stock 15" rallys don't clear my DJM drop spindles very well so I thought I might as well up-size--like McDonalds  :D

Yeah they didn't clear on mine either so I had to re-shape the lower control arms near the ball joint and used front spacers. Unfortunately for the slots they only make em in 15" and 17" and no wider than 8". What's the point? I need 10 - 12" wide in the rear and 8.5" in the front and would love these in a 17"  >:(

Well, I see I'm not the only one that has hit a deadend searching for that size/type of wheel.
My fronts hit the spindle ears where the calipers bolt up. I ground them down a little but only enough to clear the factory Rallys until I get what I want. It seems that just about any brand wheel in an 18x10 or 12 is a small fortune. I haven't taken any hard measurements yet but it appears that a 18x12 MIGHT fit the rear with 6 inches of backspacing. One of these days I'll get to finding out.
Good luck with yours! It's looking awesome and sounds killer.

I have 3" bell tech spindles and my stock 15x8" rallys hit the lower control arms every time I turned sharp. I ground the a arms at first, but ultimately ordered a new pair of 7" rallys with 3.5" back spacing.

My fronts are 15x8.5" with 4" back spacing. I have the same spindles and you RSBAD454 I was able to make them clear no problem after I reshaped the lower control arm and added a set of these style spacers.

Thanks! just stupid little things. I need a little washer bottle and the one I got is slightly too big for the look I want. I am going to finish moving around the wiring harness and such. All stuff that can wait for a rainy day.
