Layne,
Not so much square 1, just rather have a piece of mind knowing its done right and not 1/2 way done.I got this much invested so i amy as well go that extra mile n do it right rather then have it all done and knowing the frame is only done in a coating where in time it`ll peel.I want the whole thing done so i decided to just get it done and it wont take me more then a good part of the day to put the chassis back together...

thanks

Change of plans.
Decided NOT to do the frame after all, i went in last night to take some pieces off the rearend i was going to use and looked at the truck and decided its not in my best interest to tear it apart so i`m going to be ok w/ what it is and its not that bad at all.So now my focus is getting the rearend built and installed and continue to push forward. Its money n a few other reasons i decided to pass on it..Also i just picked up a smokin deal on some stereo equipment.2 12s, a EQ,Head unit and a capacitor,2 amps and a satellite unit all for 200.00 A co worker of mine is done w/ boomin stereos so he sold me everything for the truck...I am happy. now to build a center console to hold these 12s...

thanks

Hey everyone,
i know its been quite some time since i last posted.I just got back from my week vacation from Rhode Island. But as of late i got the rearend all done.I had the housing powdercoated, put a new auburn gear setup in and a set of 3.73 gears. Also put on a set of 1995 SS impala rear disc brakes, calipers and had the caliper brackets powdercoated along w/ the front swaybar in sterling silver.I painted all 4 calipers and reinstalled them.I just bought a 3 row aluminum radiator from Ebay w/ dual 2800 CFM fans.I am gonna make some brackets to install them rather then use the straps cause i heard they damage the fins.So i just bought all my brake lines and now having my fuel cell fixed and having a sending unit installed. Also my cousins are comming over sunday to help me put the bed on the truck..Also picked up some rear bumper brackets for a stepside for 20.00 and bought a new pair of filler panels and licence plate frame and had them powdercoated. Also bought a brand new rear bumper so were getting there slowly.I am gonna order the radiator hoses shortly. But pics will come soon i will promise you that. But i will say the powdercoating is all but done on my end..

thanks
Pat

:) Well, when it comes time to redo mine again I hope it turns out half as nice as yours has so far. You've got a really nice shop to work in too! :) I hope to have something similar to that when we get into a new house in the next couple of years. That'd be so much better than the little 2 car garage I have to work with :)

T/y for the compliments.i  had a 26x48 shop in Ri, i could paint cars/trucks in the front n bodywork in the back. But this truck was the 1st to get redone here n painted.I plasticed all the walls n floor n it turned out better then i thought.I wanted a good looking truck n replaced everything including the cab n frame. All that was left from the 1st truck were the door shells, engine, tranny, rearend, front suspension and radiator core support and a few odds and ends, everything else got scrapped. So i think of this truck as PHOENIX RISING. But i got like 2 grand left to finish it n its done....

thanks

Sounds similar to mine. The only thing original left on mine is the frame, cab, tranny, rear end and suspension but before long I'll be replacing the suspension, tranny and rear end as well. Once I started tearing into it I quickly found that those were the only things left salvaging!

Hey guys,

I been at it for a lil while with the truck.I got the fuel cell in and the fuel line up to the fuel pump all done.I got the brake lines all done right up to under the cab.And had a hard time w/ the parts stores helping them try n get me brake lines for the rear calipers.I went online and bought a set thats braided for a 94-6 SS impala and gonna sell the front ones later on.I also been dealing with the rearend.I got a 4 inch bell tech rear leaf spring kit and i still didnt like the stance as it still had the RAKED look. I put in a flip kit and it was WAY TO LOW.So i found  online from craigslist a set of front and rear spring perches from a 82 w/ springs, for 100.00 to replace the lowered bell tech front spring perches.Going to have them powdercoated and install them.Hopefully  w/ the flip kit it will be at a level height..But been wanting to put the bed on, looks like that will be another week or so.. But once this is all done i`ll post pics....

thanks
pat

Hey
Well i got the bed on the truck, let me tell you i think the next time i`ll call people to help me out.I did it VERY GENTLY with a floor jack and a couple of blocks of wood.Raised the rear, removed the 2x4s and slid them out and stuck 2x4 blocks under it to support it on the frame as i did the front. Then took out the 2x4 and saw horses and gently lowered it onto the frame, repositioned the bed, slid the bolts in and done!!!!I also got the new braided rear brakes lines installed. But as i looked at it , the front  sits to high, now i need to pull the front end apart, cut a 1/2 of a coil out, n while its apart everything will get powdercoated and reinstalled, .But i think the front end will take a lil time but it will be done before december.Right now just dealing w/ family issues so gonna do it as cost spairngly as possible.I dont like the spray can look, i want it right.

thanks
pat
