Sunday February 17th, 2008:  Finished of cleaning off the brackets, plan to polish them up some.  I also picked up a 700R4 from a buddy that he pulled out of a running 91 Camaro to replace the TH350.

Tuesday February 19th, 2008Put some polish on one of the brackets to see if it was going to be worth the effort.  Think I am going to powerball it at this point.  Probably will sand it smooth if I get delirious...

looks like its coming together awsome. anymore info on the turbo system ur going to be doing? would u happen to know if a tbi can run a small amount of boost without running out of fuel??

What info on the Turbo setup are you wanting?  It is a Garret 60-1 turbo that is going to be remote mounted under the truck somewhere.

i was just curious if you started on the turbo but i imangine ur gunna wait to get the engine all finished up

No, I am working on getting the TPI working properly before tossing a turbo in the mix.  Once it is running fine I will add the turbo.

What, you don't want to challenge yourself?  I agree with JJSZABO, slap that hairdryer on and lets see the tuning gremlins surface.  LOL.  Seriously, can't wait to see this one when its finished.  I'm really interested in STS turbo systems.

Uh, I will probably have to pass, but if you come buy and help turn some wrenches and pay for the mess after bolting it on a fresh install that I will just all over it.

We have installed a few of these STS systems, they make awesome power.  My brothers 5.3L finally let go at about 170k or so.  He has a 6.0L in it now.

is there any particular reason that ur switching over to a 700r4 from a th350? i noticed that ur using a turbo app. ecm because ur running the turbo but will the truck run well without the turbo but still with that computer?? youve also inspired me to consider swapping to a tpi from my current tbi

700R4 has overdrive and I plan to drive the truck = new technology.  It also has 4.10 gears, and the TH350 is leaking from the pan.
Yes, it will run fine without the turbo, it just won't see any boost so it won't alter anything.

Sunday February 24th, 2008: Pulled the V-belt accessories off the front of the motor to mount the serpentine setup to the block.  Gotta drille/tap a hole in the head to use it though.  I also finished all the polishing to the bracket that I care to do.  The other one is staying raw, or I am painting them...

Sunday March 1st, 2008: Pulled the 1978 power steering that was currently on the truck and took the 81-up steering pump off the bracket and swapped the serperntine pulley to the 78 pump.  Picked up another partial set of Serpentine pulley brackets (missing the tensioner and all the pulleys).  Remounted the pump back to the truck.

Sunday March 7th, 2008: Picked up an Alternator for the Serpentine, a PCV fitting for the TPI (somehow lost the one I had) and a new Thermostat.  I also picked up a unused waterpump from a buddy that I got the partial Serp setup from.


Sunday March 8th, 2008: Went to my mothers house and scrounged around and found some old M/T aluminum valve covers that will probably look better than the ones on there.  I also found the waterpump from a TBI that I couldn't find, so now I have 2.  Went to 3 part houses to find waterpump gaskets and none of them had any, so still have to remove the pump to get the new brackets mounted.  Spent the rest of the evenng until dark cleaning up the valve covers.

Tuesday March 11th, 2008: Finally got some waterpump gaskets and pulled off the waterpump and installed a the Serpentine one.  Pulled off the V-belt pulley and installed the serpentine pulley.

Saturday March 15th, 2008: Cleaned up the MT valve covers and decided to just paint them.  Put the waterpump pulley on and then placed the valve covers in place since I didn't have enough bolt to bolt them down.

Sunday March 16th, 2008: Got some bolts for the valve covers and installed them.  Put the Serpentine brackets on and then put the Alternator on.  I love these new hours.
