That's an odd choice.  How did you ever get it to fit?

Well, it is IN a 1978 GMC Jimmy 2WD, so it fit fine since it came in there.

Little update:
Friday, Oct 3,2008: I cut on both Y-pipes that I recieved from Thorley to make one that would fit the truck.  Got 2 of the pipes close

Saturday, Oct 4,2008: After some serious hacking and cutting I got the pipes cut down so they would be close enough to put together

Sunday, Oct 5,2008: Toolmaster came over and got them tacked up and weled up the pipes for me.  Now I just need to send them off to get coated.  No pics as my camara has screwed up on me...

Makes me glad I ordered the straight-back long tubes and had a y-pipe fab'd.  How bad was it?  Was it the trans crossmember or the trans itself in the way?

The first pipe I got was just WRONG.  If it had the 3" collector or even a 2.5" instead of a 2.25" on it and wasn't welded so the outlet was pointing towards the framerail, I could have used it.  The second was touching the torque converter WITH pressure, and on the outlet it was pressed up against the floorpan.

Friday, Oct 31st, 2008: I received they Y-pipe back from Doug Thorley after It was ceramic coated.

Cool.  Glad to see you got the headers all sorted out.  I guess the next step is turbo mockup?

Please post PICS of the turbo install.  I am interested in how it goes together.

My first "brand new" car was turbocharged.  Chevy Sprint 3 cylinder, 1 litre built by Suzuki.

A really fun car to drive.  43mpg with using the turbo.
