When I have time I will. For now I will probably just throw a flex fan at it just to get it going. I feel spring coming and want to spend as little time working on trucks and crap as possible and get out on my bike. I also need to build a new front walkway to my garage. It's an icy hill now turned to muddy pit! The nice thing is a lot of my 74's parts are going right in it. The rear slider, the Windshield, the door glass and weatherstripping which I just replaced even on the vent windows. I have new doors and the radiator support ready to rock. I also have the dual gas tank set up from my 74 but I'll have to get new sending units and pumps because it's going to be TBI which will probably cost about $400 bucks.

That is what the spring on my Burb looked like when we were diagnosing it. I couldn't find the spring in any kit other that the whole upper section. I found a larger spring for it from a Camaro guy and bought 2 of them.

Well I rebuilt the TBI unit. I got the spring from a guy who sells them on eBay for $12 bucks. I ordered both sending units and pumps. So the next thing is to start hooking up the ignition system, ECM, sensors, and fuel system. More pix soon.

Better driveability and fuel economy. I had a TBI 355 in my 88 V10 Blazer and there was nothing sluggish about it. It would roast 35"s and got good mileage and it was cheap!

That looks great! When I had my 94 Z71, it was far from sluggish. I regret selling that thing

Just because I'm nosy, what are the specs on the engine? Did you end up reusing the crank or stroking it like you are considering a while back?
Also is that throttle body painted or has it been media blasted?

I went against going with the stroker just bc I really don't need it and this truck is just being built for haha's. I certainly don't need this truck but it's graciously accepting all of the organs from my 74. The block is a one piece 4 bolt 350 that I got from 86chevysilverado. I bored it .030" over, hypereutectic flat tops, .465 -.488 lift on the cam, double roller chain, vortec heads that I rebuilt (stole em off of a Chevy Tahoe) 3 angle seat, 30° back cut on the valves. Air gap vortec intake with tbi adapter. 88 up Headers I'll skip all the other boring details.
As far as the tbi goes, after I ripped it apart I soaked it in the acid bath over the weekend and once I cleaned it up I painted it.

So I take it we're talking
this cam
. I didn't realize TBI would get along with that large a cam.

Sorry Event, I missed your post. Yeah it'll work fine and dandy. I took a long break from this project as I've been so busy and enjoyed as much riding weather as possible. I have to finish hooking everything up and I'll be getting ready to fire it up hopefully very soon!
