Quick Inner Fender Question
« on: October 19, 2007, 07:01:01 am »
Do I need to seam seal between the inner fender and the outer fender when I put them together?  If not, will it help to do it or will it hold in the moisture?

Thanks in advance,

Jeff

Assuming we are talking about the front fenders... There was nothing in this joint from the factory. I just took apart my very rusty front end and nothing in this location was damaged exept the j-nuts.

Just bolt together and go.

Thanks ccz145a  :)

That's what I found also when I took mine apart.  Was wondering if it would hurt putting seam sealer in there to keep the rust from reforming.

seam sealer won't stop rust. Don't seam seal them.

moisture and it will be worst!  ;)

I always make sure there is a good coat of rust inhibitive self etching primer and paint on both surfaces before they go together.
