what are the common oil leaks in the 250 straight 6?  it's toward the front...drips after i shut it off

You'll have to be more specific. Oil, Coolant? Basically every component with a seal, gasket or hse etc is a potential leak.

oil...i was just wondering if there were any common place in these engines that this occurs

Yes, basically everything! Valve cover gasket, front cover, crank seal, oil pan, rear main seal are the most common leaks.

it looks like it's coming from the front around the distributor
