Whats should I Buy For a Good Tune Up?
« on: March 20, 2008, 07:03:17 pm »
Hi, I'm new, I own a 1986 Chevy C20 HD Pickup with the Vin M 350

I'm wondering what should I buy to give this truck a basic tune up?

I've done the dizzy cap, Rotor, Oil, Coolant, ATF, Air Filter.

What should I get next? Plugs? Spark Plug Wires?, Fuel Filter?

Any Help I can get would be great!

Thanks

A major tune up consists of:

Plugs, Wires, Cap, Rotor, Fuel filter, Air filter, PCV valve, Breather, adjust timing, clean and adjust carb.

Thanks For The Info!

By Chance would you have Info on changing the fuel filter?

I know it's in the carb, but is there anything beyond the filter I need to replace when I do it?

Thanks

You should only need a 1" open end, & a 5/8" line wrench. Once the line is off take the ( I call it ) the filter nut out, replace the filter same direction as the old one, put it back together. There is a spring behind the filter, just don't lose it.
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

Great Thanks for the help, it's been around 7 years since the filter was last done so I'm sure it's time

With Gas $3.67 A Gallon here I'm trying to squeeze every drop of fuel as far as I can
