« on: March 24, 2008, 12:23:42 am »
Hi, i have a '85 k10, has a 4in BL and 36" superswampers. I would like to take my body lift out and get a suspension lift, but i'm not that great with trucks :S only dirtbikes  ;D Ive looked at some different skyjacker kits and nothing seems to be clicking for me, anyone know of a decent suspension lift that wont empty my bank account? thanks in advanced ;)

Welcome from New Hampshaa Mamby.
I haven't shopped around for a kit in a while. I will say the more you get included in the kit, rear springs, steering arm, shocks, etc. the better off you will be in the long run. If you have to go back and purchase this stuff separate it will end up costing you more in $ and hassles in the end.
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

jcwhitney has 2 nice ones, one rough country with shocks steering arm front springs, bushings, and rear blocks and u bolts for about $300 I got mine shipped for that price.

They also have tuff country with ez ride springs and it's got all the same stuff for about $360 and definately the way to go unless you like a rough ride and harsh ride on the rode, let alone on the trails.

rough country is rough and willbeat you to death.

There's a lot of different ways to do it.

Cheapest way out will be 6" springs and rear blocks but I'd go all spring...just use google like this search

that looks the same as our 4 inch but has 6 inch springs and add a leafs for back plus blocks.

just an FYI we needed the sway bar drops in order to bolt it up and they are required for a 6 inch lift or bigger, but we had 4 and had to get them, brake lines are needed, and transfer case drop bracket are supposed to be needed as well for older truck we had 86, or more lift then 4 inches.

If you don't mind a really rough harsh ride I'd go with it, but if you want smooth ride look into ez ride from tuff country or the softride from superlift or skyjacker forget which.

Check out ROUGHCOUNTRY.com they offer some good lifts at affordable prices! Had a 2" kit on my truck that flexed 36" all day! I was very pleased with a 25yr old lift that kept its shape!

Do not use rough country, they are just that, rough.  Tuff country is excellant and a shackle flip in the rear is the best way to go.  I run tuff country 6'' in front and ORD shackle flip in back.
