Safe to splice ground wire from sending unit??

One more thing to figure out before I get my tank back in:
Can I splice together the ground wire coming off the new
sending unit into the existing ground wire that went into the old one?
Seems OK to me , but thought I'd check for some input.

Why not just junk anything old and fit new anyway? That way you'll know its good

I would price a new one. What you have to consider is that even if it ohms out ok, it still may not work with a load , even though it is so minimal.

Price a new ground wire?  I guess it depends on the gauge, but I would bet price is not an issue. 



I would guess you could with out any problems...except... what if the reason your last sender was inaccurate was a bad ground?

I would run new, if it were mine.

Chronos, I believe each guy in there own way is wanting to get around to asking..."Have you looked how long & where the ground wire goes?" Just remove the 1/2"-13mm bolt, clean up the frame where the ring sits, put the new one on & put some grease on it when your done to prevent corrosion. Lorne
