My truck got keyed...
« on: June 20, 2008, 08:57:44 pm »
Long story short, my truck got keyed at work and I know who did it. I can't explain how immensely angry I am at this point, but I need to get past that.

The scratch is on the door, and it isn't super deep, but my paint job is only about 6 months old, and it has more than one clear coat. I'm thinking about buying a bottle of Scratch X, has anyone used it?

If I run my fingernail perpendicular to it, I can feel it, to give you an idea of how deep it is.

Any other products or methods I can try? I appreciate any help.

That sucks man. You should take it to a body shop. Don't waste your money on scratch removers. they don't work.

Did you make this guy mad somehow?

Well, he's quite different. He's harassed my girlfriend before, but I've never even touched him. He's been mad at me, but I haven't even seen the kid in months.

I work at a locally owned Italian restaurant. I get off at 8:00, and these two kids came in at about 7:57. One of these kids being the one who I think did it. Let's call him "Fred." So Fred comes in with a friend, and they want food, I told them we can't do any more orders. He said "Well that's gay." So I said sorry and they left. I wasn't rude in any way. About 5 or 10 minutes later, I left. My truck was parked in the school parking lot next door to the restaurant, and the two kids were only a block away after walking for 5 or 10 minutes. I saw the big ol' scratch on the door and drove down the block and confronted him. All he wanted to do was fight, but I was smart, and only questioned him. He got really defensive and nervous. I went home, and eventually called the police. The officer knew "Fred" because he's always into trouble.

So I'm pretty much positive it was him, but whatever, I'm over it. I'm going to get it out the best I can. It really sucks because I baby this truck. I got it for christmas and I take care of it like my child. It's always got a full tank, and you'll never see it dirty. Polished and clean 24/7  ;D

Take it back to where you had it painted they or YOU should have a little paint left over, maybe enough for the repair.
The culprit will be payed back one way or another, what comes around goes around.
Or how does that OLD saying go? "vengeance is mine say it the ??"

I can't stand it when people mess with vehicles of any kind.  Especially when it a truck like that!  That really sucks.  Of the subject I took my 80 to meijer and parked far out in the parking lot.  When I came back out there were about 15 shopping carts all the way around my truck.  Why can't people leave stuff alone?

You sound very mature for your age.......and you are handling this just as you should from my perspective.  It's great to hear of a young man taking pride in something other than a tatt or a skateboard and actually working for a living.  You are on the right path my friend!

i'll be the first to admit i'll demolish something if someone pisses me off enuff. but at the same time, i'll let you know i'm doing it and have no issues with the confrontation. i don't look for trouble but if you so much as start it with me, i do go overboard enuff to make you not even entertain the thought the next time.

keying a vehicle is something a chick does. that's petty and just a punk thing to do. i use cinderblocks. lol...

but get the repair done, don't take shortcuts... and me honestly, i'd start taking out my vengeance on his ride, his girl, his house, his job, his friends, his dog. but that's me. like i said i go overboard..

I appreciate your comment. Personally, I am often disgusted by the behavior and lack of respect of my generation of teenagers. It's nice to hear you say that. :)

When I was 16 someone keyed my black beauty.  It was a 71 C-20 Chevy Longhorn.  It had a near perfect paint job and someone got it at school.  Oh well...  In Texas 1991 I had a brand new 92 extended cab Silverado I ordered special.  I used to take my wife grocery shopping and wait in the truck and watch for her.  The very 1st. time I ever went in, parked it out where there were no cars or shopping carts, someone keyed the entire tailgate.  I have never had a car or truck since, that was nice enough to care about.  Some folks are just evil and they will get theirs someday.

WOW, sorry to here about that I agree I hate when someone is that jealous or envious and have to damage something of someone else's I've had mine keyed before and had two tires slashed at the same time I never found out who or why. Know the sad thing is I won't take mine out if I have to leave it alone I'll take it home and put it back in the garage and take something else instead. I hope you can get it fixed pretty easy.

When I was in High School there was two farm boys who hated Chevy's so they decided to cork screw my antennae on my 80 Chevy so remember what comes around goes around. Both of them totalled their FORD trucks into trees in the woods one night at a party... was it Karma? Use your best judgment
