I have one in my 1991 CrewCab. The ECM controls it and the TBI. What are you looking for. P30? Vans had a controller in them that some people have modified...

Chris, My transmission buddy suggested we try an electronic, I've seen companies that make a programable set-up to alter shift points, lock-up, ect. that you would plug in a laptop or some pre-determined "program 1" & "program 2" or something like that. Just wondering if anyone has first hand experience with a certain company & their thoughts. Lorne

They do have programmable E's, but the good one cost $2500. The only stuff I have experience with it the 99-up LS motors that we turbocharge and tune...
There are a few that have stand alone PCM's but they are expensive also...

Wow, they came down to about $1200. That is the one I am talking about. For the money it is the best you can get.

Yes, That's exactly what I was looking at. There are several others out there too, most use your laptop though.
Chris, On a side note, Is your brother locking up his converter during a dragstrip pass?
Thanks Guys! Anyone else have any input? Lorne

No he is not locking the converter. he is making to much power and has gone through 5 4L60E's, so it would break it. If/when he gets an 80 he is going to lock it.

well the first 1 broke with factory setup.
The second one burnt up after the turbo.
3rd one broke the input shaft
4th one burnt up the pump.
5th one just got installed.
Truck is making 535hp and 703lb/ft at the rear wheels. He hopes the trans will last for Pink all out next weekend.

You mean a 4L60E can't stand up to a pathetic 850+ flywheel ft/lbs. Jeez they are weak.

Yeah I know. That is what I was saying.
I convinced him to dump Finishline, the input shaft that broke was because they didn't put a hardened on it. He raised cane, but they still charged him (in my opinion) way to much to fix it, of course this was after they recived it.. My opinion was they should have ate all the expense on that one...
We found a supplier for 80 parts locally so hopefully he will go that route.
