Need some help with my 87 Burb
« on: May 01, 2010, 09:45:56 pm »
Hi all. Glad I found the board. I have a 87 Burb I am unsure of the model How can I tell? It runs great, ac works, and all windows work except the tailgate window. I try to open it via the button on the dash and key at the back and hear nothing. The window is up now any way to get it down without breaking the glass? Also was trying to find a way into the tailgate but could not find anyway in. I did not want to break anything so kind of left it to come check on the web. Any help would be great and again glad to be part of the forum.

Pull the interior access panel off the gate and find the power motor, remove the cable from the motor, hook a cordless drill and chuck the cable in it and put it on reverse.
The glass HAS to be down to open the gate.

I don't have a picture, the plastic bolts to the gate, the access is behind it.
