correct me if I'm wrong but that's exactly where the 5.0lg came from and if so then no it's on over towards the middle or on the pass. side, older blocks where right as mentioned behind the head first flat, newer ones are more in the middle as mine is in the 88.

the casting will be above that, or on the other side and up higher then the 5.0 thing. By higher up I mean closer to the point of the bellhousing.

3998991 307/350 68-79 1.72/1.50 76cc
wow never seen a set like that, small valves with a big cc size. My 2.02 valved heads are 76cc. I think they are kinda small on the 1.72 valve size but then again they came on 307's and 350's so they'd be ok I'd think at least as far as stock goes. Not sure how the small valve size would effect performance.

They are just for sale in my area for $50. Im not going to look for anymore parts for this motor, just put it up for sale and when/if it sells start looking for a 350.

Swims, I was only going off of what I read. Now you got me doubting lol. I going out to look at the one that I just pulled.
86, I wouldn't get rid off all that yet. You'll always need it after you get rid of it. It just works that way.lol

Swims, Your right! The other numbers are there. Thanks
86, they should be in the same location just on the passenger side near the center.
In this pic I'm pointing to it with a brush.
Right behind/below the distributor.
Hope this helps.

It's ok oldwhity, I knew they were there, but I'm glad you cleared up which side it was driving me nuts. Now I know it's pass top flat near the peak.
btw oldwhty is awesome, that's what we called the old 76 we had, it holds alot of sentimental value with me and when I read your screenname it brought back memories.
and for posting here's the info I got...
14088548 350 86-88 155-195 2-bolt Truck Passenger stick 1-piece seal

Thanks, I have a binder of casting number printed from the web from a few year back. Your info seems to be a little more specific or detailed. Mine showed 1986-94 350. It had dashes for the hp, main caps, and body it came in. I wouldv'e thought it would be a 4bolt main since it was in a k30. Oh well, I'll check it out later.
Oldwhity popped up when I got my k20. I guess it stuck in my head from when my dad had his white 79'. He called it the same thing.

Is there a site you prefer for casting numbers? Figure when I start going to junk yards it may be a good idea to make a binder like Oldwhity said he had.

huh? what about the trans being a th350? you talking about in his or yours? An 86 shouldn't have a th350, I think by 86 and up it was all 700r4's or at least a th350c.
