Windshield frame patch

I'm looking for a way to patch the bottom of the frame where my windshield sits in. The passenger side corner is in bad shape. I'm looking for ideas or anyone with an old cab willing to cut and sell a piece. Thanks very much

How big is the hole?  Pictures ?  I patched 5 holes in the bottom part of mine but they were all in flats and didn't extend into the curves. I cut them back to good metal in a rectangular shape. Drilled a 1/4 inch hole at each end. Spotted welded a tab at each end through the 1/4 inch hole and then cut a piece to fit the original cut out and welded it in place. A little grinding, some metal infused body filler and a fair amount of sanding you would never know a hole was there.

I would suggest sawzall and amputating the sections you need from a donor. It will be a cleaner job than trying to fix that in my opinion. I cut a section out of a cab for someone on here a while back. Maybe someone on here has a scrapper they can help you out with.

With that much rot you might have firewall to cowl rot int the seams, how about the cab supports, A pillar door hinge areas.

Might consider looking for another cab.

No you need to go inside, peek behind the carpet and firewall insulation, wouldn't hurt to remove the glove box either.

I might have a donor cab that I can section for you.  I am also in the Pittsburgh area (sort of).  I will look tonight and take some pictures for you.

unlike the previous 67-72 generation the squarebody windshield frame and upper cowl panel is in one piece - this illustration shows the windshield frame/upper cowl assembly (OEM #15629646 81-91 (w/hood hinge cutouts and cowl screen provisions); #459891 73-80)
